EPRT Advocates Stronger Security Synergy in Fufore LGA

Fufore, Adamawa State  - May 13, 2026

The Emergency Preparedness and Response Team (EPRT), an initiative of the Justice, Development and Peace Commission (JDPC) of the Catholic Diocese of Yola, has carried out advocacy visits to the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) and the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) in Fufore Local Government Area.

The visits aimed to strengthen collaboration in tackling insecurity, promoting peace, and curbing drug abuse across the area. They also formed part of the EPRT’s broader commitment to community safety and conflict prevention, with a focus on improving synergy with security agencies to address rising crime, promote alternative dispute resolution (ADR), and reduce youth involvement in criminal activities and substance abuse.

Speaking during the visits, the Secretary of EPRT Fufore, Sir Titus Innocent Isinga, who led the team, stressed the importance of partnership and collective responsibility in achieving sustainable peace and security. He reaffirmed the EPRT’s dedication to working alongside government agencies, traditional rulers, religious bodies, and community stakeholders to foster peaceful coexistence and ensure rapid emergency response.

"The EPRT is always ready to collaborate with relevant agencies and organizations to build a safer society,” Sir Isinga said. “Through partnership, dialogue, and community engagement, we believe crimes and social vices can be greatly reduced.”

He also underscored the need for continuous sensitization on the dangers of drug abuse, particularly among young people, describing substance abuse as a major driver of criminal behavior and social instability in many communities.

In their responses, officials of both the NSCDC and NDLEA commended the JDPC and EPRT for the initiative, describing the advocacy visit as timely and commendable. The agency heads—Bakari Aminu CSC (NSCDC) and Jaron Intutu CS (NDLEA)—expressed their readiness to work closely with the EPRT in intelligence sharing, community sensitization, conflict resolution, and other peacebuilding efforts aimed at reducing crime and maintaining law and order in Fufore LGA.

The security agencies also encouraged residents to support efforts to safeguard lives and property by providing useful information that could help combat criminal activities and drug-related offenses.

The visit concluded with renewed commitments from all parties to foster stronger cooperation for the advancement of peace, justice, and security within Fufore Local Government Area and beyond.
