Vunobolki meets PDP Stakeholders: Donate 100 Million Naira for Party Activities
YOLA, Nigeria - April 28, 2026
Adamawa State governorship aspirant, Chief Maurice Vunobolki, on Tuesday intensified his political consultations within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), re-engaging party leaders and stakeholders in a strategic move that underscored both his return to the party and his 2027 gubernatorial ambition.
In a day marked by high-level meetings, strong endorsements, and a major financial contribution to party, Vunobolki met with party leadership in Yola, calling for unity, grassroots expansion, and collective commitment to electoral victory.
Vunobolki began the day at the PDP State Secretariat, where he formally notified party executives of his return to the PDP and reaffirmed his intention to contest the Adamawa State governorship election in 2027.Addressing party leaders, he described the PDP as his political home and urged members to work together in the interest of fairness, inclusiveness, and party success.
The PDP State Chairman, Caretaker Committee welcomed his return, praising Vunobolki’s resilience, consistency, and commitment to justice within the political process.
He noted that Vunobolki is the first aspirant to formally declare his interest under the party and assured him of a transparent and supportive internal process ahead of the primaries.
The chairman also urged him to take his manifesto directly to grassroots communities across the state as preparations begin for both the party primaries and the 2027 general election.
After the secretariat engagement, Vunobolki and his entourage proceeded to an expanded stakeholders’ meeting held at Bridge Hotel in Yola, where party elders, executives, and grassroots leaders gathered in large numbers.
Opening the session, the PDP chairman described Vunobolki’s return as “the beginning of a renewed political journey built on unity, democratic ideals, and a shared vision for Adamawa.”
Speaker after speaker commended the aspirant’s leadership qualities, philanthropy, and longstanding relationship with communities across the state, assuring him of their willingness to work with him toward the next electoral cycle.
In his address to stakeholders, Vunobolki said his decision to return to the PDP followed a period of political reflection, noting that his previous movement to the opposition APC did not align with his long-term vision for inclusive politics.
He described the PDP as “the true people’s party” and emphasized the need for members to strengthen its institutional base through active participation and digital membership registration.
As a demonstration of his commitment, Vunobolki announced a donation of ₦100 million to support party operations and grassroots mobilization.
The donation was split into:
₦50 million for general party activities in Adamawa State, and ₦50 million to support the forthcoming local government council elections.
He also pledged personal involvement in campaign activities across the state.
Political observers at the meeting described the donation as one of the most significant early financial commitments by any aspirant within the Adamawa state.
Vunobolki used the occasion to commend the developmental strides of Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, stating that Adamawa would require “an experienced, competent and visionary hand” to sustain and consolidate ongoing progress after the current administration.
He urged all party members to complete their electronic registration and remain loyal to the party structure, stressing that internal cohesion would be critical to success in both the PDP primaries and the general election.
The day’s party engagements concluded with a closed-door meeting between Vunobolki, the 21 local government PDP chairmen, and chairmanship aspirants at his residence.
During the meeting, he pledged full logistical and strategic support for party activities leading into the local council elections, assuring them that grassroots leadership remains central to his political agenda.
In response, the local government leaders expressed appreciation for his intervention and reaffirmed their readiness to work closely with him in the months ahead.
