Fintiri to New Police Boss: Adamawa Will Stand Firm on Security

Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has assured the newly posted Commissioner of Police in Adamawa State, Kabir Hassan Umar, of the full backing of the state government in consolidating security across the region.
The assurance came when the police chief paid a courtesy visit to the Government House in Yola. Governor Fintiri described the commissioner as a seasoned and disciplined officer, well-equipped for the task of sustaining peace and order.
Fintiri reaffirmed his administration’s resolve to work in close synergy with all security agencies, emphasizing that the protection of lives and property remains a cardinal responsibility of government. He observed that while the state once grappled with security challenges, the tide has turned considerably through deliberate coordination and sustained collaboration with security operatives.
The governor pledged continued support in critical areas such as logistics, intelligence sharing, and personnel welfare, noting that effective policing thrives on both institutional backing and operational efficiency.
He charged the new Commissioner of Police to uphold the highest standards of professionalism, urging him to remain neutral, fair, and guided strictly by the rule of law.
“Security must never be compromised by political considerations,” Fintiri stressed.
In his remarks, CP Kabir Hassan Umar expressed appreciation for the warm reception and the confidence reposed in him. He pledged to deploy his experience toward strengthening peace and stability in Adamawa State.
The police commissioner commended the Fintiri administration’s strides in infrastructure and governance, describing them as impactful and people-oriented. He assured that the command would reinforce its security architecture to address evolving threats while deepening community policing efforts.
CP Umar also called on residents to partner with law enforcement agencies by providing timely and credible information, reaffirming the command’s commitment to professionalism and the protection of all citizens.
