Public Notice: Bishop Dami Mamza Elected Chairman for Ecumenism at CBCN

Yola, Adamawa State - February 26, 2026

The Catholic Diocese of Yola is pleased to announce that Most Rev. Stephen Dami Mamza, Catholic Bishop of Yola, has been elected as the Chairman for Ecumenism at the Catholic Bishops Conference of Nigeria (CBCN).

In this new national role, Bishop Mamza will serve as the official representative of the Catholic Bishops to the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN). He will also be responsible for strengthening ecumenical relationships and fostering deeper collaboration with the Anglican Communion, the Methodist Church Nigeria, and other Christian bodies across the country.

This appointment is a recognition of Bishop Mamza’s longstanding commitment to unity, dialogue, and peaceful coexistence among Christian communities in Nigeria.

The Diocese extends its warmest congratulations to Bishop Mamza and prays for God’s continued guidance and wisdom as he undertakes this important responsibility in service to the Church and the nation.
