Governor Fintiri Conducts On-the-Spot Assessment of Lamurde Crisis, Vows Justice and Lasting Peace

In response to the recent unrest in Lamurde Local Government Area, His Excellency, Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, today paid an emergency visit to personally assess the situation and engage directly with stakeholders on the ground.
The visit served as a critical fact-finding mission, with the Governor prioritizing first-hand information gathering. He held extended consultations with community leaders, traditional rulers, heads of security agencies, and representatives of the affected families to obtain a comprehensive and unfiltered account of the tragic events.
“The loss of innocent lives and the wanton destruction of property we have witnessed here is profoundly tragic and utterly unacceptable,” Governor Fintiri stated. “My administration’s foremost duty is the protection of every citizen, and this incident represents a grave violation of that sacred trust. I stand with the victims, and I give you my solemn assurance that justice will be decisively served.”
During his interactions, the Governor issued a firm appeal for calm, unity, and collective restraint from all parties involved. He cautioned against any form of retaliation or action that could inflame tensions further, underscoring the imperative of preserving social harmony.
To this end, Governor Fintiri outlined a concrete action plan. He announced that the State Government, in full collaboration with federal security apparatuses, will immediately launch a thorough and transparent investigation into the root causes of the crisis. “All individuals found culpable for orchestrating or participating in this violence will be identified and held fully accountable under the law,” he declared. Furthermore, he pledged that his administration will implement all necessary security and community-based measures to prevent any recurrence.Reaffirming a foundational principle of his governance, the Governor strongly emphasized his administration’s unwavering commitment to fostering peace, security, and peaceful coexistence among all ethnic groups in Adamawa State. “Our strength lies in our diversity. No community or tribe should ever feel targeted or marginalized. We are one Adamawa,” he stressed.
Concluding his remarks, Governor Fintiri highlighted the government’s sustained strategy for enduring stability.
