GOVERNOR AHMADU UMARU FINTIRI CON WINS PRESTIGIOUS NEAPS GOVERNOR OF THE YEAR AWARD FOR URBAN INFRASTRUCTURE

Abuja, Nigeria – December 8, 2025

The Adamawa State Government announces that His Excellency, Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri CON, was on Sunday, December 7th, 2025, conferred with the 'Governor of the Year Award for Urban Infrastructure' by the Nigeria Excellence Awards in Public Service (NEAPS). This marks the third such national recognition of Governor Fintiri's exemplary service and contributions to state and national development.

The prestigious award ceremony was held at the State House, Presidential Villa, Abuja. The President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR, represented by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume, presented the award. In his address, President Tinubu commended all award recipients for their pivotal roles in fostering growth and driving prosperity across the nation.

In its citation, the NEAPS Award Committee highlighted Governor Fintiri's exceptional leadership, strategic vision, and unwavering dedication to public service as the primary rationale for his selection. The Committee specifically lauded the landmark achievements of his administration in the critical sector of urban infrastructure development, alongside significant, measurable progress in education, healthcare, and economic growth. Furthermore, the Governor's steadfast commitment to promoting peace, unity, and social cohesion within Adamawa State was cited as a defining characteristic of his tenure, solidifying his merit for this honour.

The Nigeria Excellence Awards in Public Service is a distinguished, non-partisan initiative that recognises and celebrates exceptional contributions to governance and public welfare in Nigeria.
