Yola, Adamawa - November 28, 2025

The Adamawa State Government has become aware of a false and malicious rumour circulating regarding the closure of schools across the state. The government wishes to state categorically that this information is entirely untrue and without any foundation.

Contrary to misleading reports, the administration of Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, CON, has not issued any directive to close schools and has no plans to do so.

In a statement released by Humwashi Wonosikou, Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Governor Fintiri urged parents, students, and the general public to disregard the false alarm and continue with academic activities without disruption.

“Our schools are open and will remain open,” Governor Fintiri stated. “This baseless rumour is the work of mischief-makers aiming to create unnecessary panic and disrupt the peace and academic progress of our state. We are committed to the uninterrupted education of every child in Adamawa.”

The Governor reaffirmed his administration’s unwavering commitment to the education sector, highlighting the significant investments and progress made in improving infrastructure, learning materials, and the overall quality of education.

“We will not be deterred by the spread of falsehoods. Our focus remains on repositioning the education sector and ensuring Adamawa becomes a hub of academic excellence for the benefit of our children and the future of our state,” he added.

The government has warned that those found to be originating and spreading such malicious falsehoods with the intent to cause public alarm and discredit the government will be apprehended and face the full wrath of the law.

The public is advised to rely only on official communication channels for authentic information from the Adamawa State Government.
