Driving Nigeria’s Automotive Future: NADDC DG Shares Vision on NOA Policy Perspective

The Director General of the National Orientation Agency (NOA), Mallam Lanre Issa-Onilu, recently hosted the Director General of the National Automotive Design and Development Council (NADDC), Otunba Oluwemimo Joseph Osanipin who sat down for an enlightening interview on the show Policy Perspective at the Agency’s visual studio, Abuja. The programme, designed to simplify key government policies for citizens, featured an engaging conversation on Nigeria’s automotive future.

Otunba Osanipin highlighted the NADDC’s commitment to transforming Nigeria into a hub for vehicle manufacturing, design, and innovation in Africa. He noted that the Council is creating opportunities for young Nigerians through training and testing centres, the Automotive Design and Innovation Institute, and partnerships with organisations such as CREDICORP to promote financial inclusion and investment in local engine manufacturing.

He further explained that the Council’s goal is to make locally assembled vehicles more affordable and attractive to Nigerians, reducing reliance on imports. “By investing in local manufacturing and innovation, we can build a thriving automotive sector that benefits both the economy and the people,” he said, while calling on investors to explore the industry’s opportunities and commending local manufacturers for their contributions.

Otunba Osanipin, speaking on NOA Policy Perspective concluded that with a strong focus on innovation and sustainability, the NADDC is positioning Nigeria’s automotive industry as a key driver of national growth. He encouraged citizens to seize emerging opportunities in the sector and contribute to building Nigeria’s automotive future.
