Government Secondary School Jos Old Students Association (JOSA) Holds Grand Convention and AGM

 

Jos, Plateau State - October 16, 2025

The Government Secondary School Jos Old Students Association (JOSA) successfully held its National Convention and Annual General 

Meeting (AGM) from October 10th to 12th, 2025, at Basel Event Center and Resort, Dong. The three-day event brought together old students from various parts of the country and beyond, rekindling old memories and strengthening the bond of friendship among former students of the prestigious institution.

Activities during the convention included a courtesy visit, mosque fellowship, AGM session, awards presentation, gala and dinner night, as well as a thanksgiving service. Discussions centered on developmental initiatives for the school and strategies to enhance the association’s impact in education and community service.

In his opening remark, the National President, Mr. Sunday Amaechi, expressed profound appreciation to all members for their active participation and continuous support. He lauded the Planning Committee for their dedication and hard work, describing the convention as “a reflection of JOSA’s unity, commitment, and shared vision for the future.”

Delivering his goodwill message, the Chairman of the Planning Committee, Prof. Adamu Pam, thanked the national executives and members for the confidence reposed in his team. He highlighted the importance of old students giving back to their alma mater, stating that “our presence here is a testimony of love, loyalty, and gratitude to the school that laid the foundation for who we have become today.”


Prof. Pam further urged members to remain united and continue supporting developmental projects aimed at improving the learning environment for current students of Government Secondary School Jos. He emphasized that collective effort and consistent support would ensure the school regains its pride of place among leading secondary schools in Nigeria.

The event was graced by past principals, teachers, representatives of the Plateau State Ministry of Education, and other distinguished personalities.

Highlights included the presentation of awards to outstanding members and supporters who have contributed significantly to the progress of the association and the development of the school.


The convention concluded with a thanksgiving service, where members expressed gratitude to God for a successful and peaceful gathering, and prayed for continued unity, progress, and prosperity among all JOSA members worldwide.
