RT HON BATHIYA WESLEY SYMPATHIZE WITH FIVE COMMUNITIES IN HONG OVER FLOOD


Hong, Adamawa State, September 4, 2025

 In response to severe flooding that hit Hong Local Government on September 3rd, the Speaker of the Adamawa State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Bathiya Wesley, has mobilized emergency agencies and delivered immediate aid to five affected communities.


The Speaker personally visited Mombol, Luga, Garari, Dakza, and Zedinyi alongside officials from NEMA, ADSEMA, and the Hong LG Chairman, Hon Usman Inuwa Wa'aganda to assess the widespread destruction of homes and farms.


To provide urgent support, Rt. Hon. Wesley distributed cash donations to the communities. He characterized the event as a natural disaster but assured residents of his commitment to securing further aid from government and non-governmental organizations.


The Speaker also had to stop by Pella Maiha road cut off by the flood to assess the extent of damage and what immediate response can be made to cushion its effect on commutters. 


The communities expressed their gratitude for the Speaker's rapid and empathetic response, highlighting it as a model of effective political leadership.
