PDP Adamawa Elects Hamza Madagahi as New State Chairman at Peaceful Congress

Yola, Adamawa - September 27, 2025

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Adamawa State has successfully convened its 2025 State Congress, culminating in the election of Hon. Hamza Madagahi, as the new State Chairman for a four-year term.

Presided over by the Congress Committee Chairman, Mr. David Lorhenba, the event in Yola saw 2,656 delegates from 21 local government areas vote to fill 39 executive positions.

In his opening remarks, the outgoing Chairman, Barr. Tahir Shehu, expressed gratitude to the State Executive Committee members for their unwavering commitment and to the entire party membership for their steadfast support throughout his tenure. He urged members to continue their efforts to strengthen the PDP, which he described as "Africa's largest political party."

Barr. Shehu also reflected on the party's significant achievements in the state, highlighting how the PDP successfully toppled the opposition to produce Governor Ahmadu Fintiri. He praised the Governor for his exemplary service, which he stated is "unprecedented in the history of Adamawa State."

The emergence of Hon. Hamza Madagahi is seen as a strategic move to consolidate the party's base and build on the successes of the Fintiri administration as the PDP looks toward future elections.
