National Orientation Agency Engages Adamawa Community in Sensitization Campaign

Yola, Adamawa State - September 7, 2025

In line with its ongoing national initiative to deepen public understanding of government policies and foster civic participation, the National Orientation Agency (NOA) conducted an awareness session at the LCCN St. Monica Cathedral in Adamawa State.

Representing the Director-General, Mallam Lanre Issa-Onilu, the Adamawa State Director of the NOA, Mr. Richard Bala Dangari, addressed the congregation. He expressed gratitude to the church leadership for providing the platform to disseminate crucial information directly to the citizenry.

During his presentation, Mr. Dangari elaborated on the five core thematic areas of the Agency's current sensitization campaign, which are designed to encourage active citizen engagement:

1. Government Policies and Programs: Highlighting initiatives such as the NELFUND student loan scheme and the Farmer Monie program, which offers soft loans to support small businesses and agricultural ventures. He urged students, parents, and entrepreneurs to take full advantage of these opportunities.

2. Flood and Disaster Management: Emphasizing preparedness and community response strategies.

3. Discouragement of Extreme Practices: Advocating for positive social norms, particularly among the youth.

4. The Nigerian Identity Project and Civic Responsibilities: Reinforcing the importance of national unity and the duties of every citizen.

5. Security and Peaceful Coexistence: Stressing the role of communities in promoting security and harmony.

Mr. Dangari underscored that national development is contingent upon an informed and actively engaged populace. A key feature of the event was the formal presentation of informational manuals to the church leadership, including the blueprint for the National Values Charter and details on the national identity project.

Responding on behalf of the church, Mr. Daniel Zoka thanked the NOA for the visit and the enlightening presentation. He pledged the church's commitment to advancing the objectives of the Agency through its various programs.

This event forms part of the NOA's comprehensive nationwide campaign, which aims to partner with stakeholders across all sectors to enhance awareness of government initiatives and the corresponding responsibilities of citizens.
