Fintiri's Administration Approves N30bn Development Blitz for Adamawa's Roads, Schools, and Airwaves
Massive infrastructure and human capital investments approved at State Executive Council meeting, targeting balanced development across the state.

In a significant move to accelerate development, the Adamawa State Executive Council has approved a massive investment package exceeding N30 billion for critical projects spanning infrastructure, education, and media broadcasting.
The approval was given during the 15th council meeting presided over by Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri on Wednesday.
Briefing journalists after the session, the State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr. James Iliya, outlined the major projects designed to transform the state's landscape and empower its citizens.The largest chunk of the investment, a whopping N21.8 billion, was earmarked for additional works on the flagship Adamawa Super Highway, extending the project from Welcome to Yola through Rumde Kila to AA Lawal Junction.In a move supporting both security and community welfare, the council also approved N2.4 billion for the construction of internal roads at the Army Barracks and N1.6 billion for the rehabilitation of the NYSC orientation camp gate and Borong road in the Girei/Demsa area.
Demonstrating a strong commitment to education, the council endorsed two key initiatives: a N4.5 billion fund for overseas postgraduate scholarships for 100 students, and N395 million for the purchase of new science textbooks for junior and senior secondary schools across the state.The Adamawa Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) is also set for a major technological upgrade. The council approved N184.2 million to rehabilitate studio complexes in Yola and install new FM and AM transmitters, including a booster station at Mambamba, to expand broadcast reach and improve signal quality.Looking towards leisure and economic diversification, the council greenlit the construction of a modern Adamawa State Amusement Park in Yola North. The project is expected to provide a new recreational outlet for families and boost tourism in the state capital.Commissioner Iliya stated that these diverse approvals reflect the Fintiri administration's holistic approach to governance.“These projects are a clear testament to the government’s commitment to balanced development,” Iliya said. “We are not just building roads; we are investing in our people through education, empowering our youth, supporting our security infrastructure, and creating avenues for recreation and tourism. This is development that touches every sector and every citizen.”With these approvals, the state government signals a vigorous push to complete key infrastructure projects and deepen its investment in human capital ahead of the next fiscal year.
