Adamawa Govt Prepares for Commissioning of Model Schools Across 21 LGAs

Ahead of the commissioning of the newly constructed Model Schools across the 21 local government areas of Adamawa State, the government has stepped up preparations to ensure all projects are completed before the event.
As part of the readiness measures, the Commissioner for Local Government Affairs, Hon. Ibrahim Mijinyawa Yayaji, the Commissioner for Education, Dr. Umar Garba Pella, and the Executive Chairman of the State Universal Basic Education Board (ADSUBEB), Dr. Umar Babayi, inspected school furniture and facilities at the central stores in Jimeta. They also visited Jimeta Model School.During the inspection, the team expressed satisfaction with the level of preparedness, describing the schools as a major milestone in the government’s commitment to quality education.They noted that the model schools, which will serve as centers of excellence, will be equipped with modern technology and stimulating learning facilities, while urging residents to support the initiative.
This initiative fulfills a promise made in January 2024, when Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri flagged off the construction of brand-new model nursery, primary, and junior secondary schools in each LGA.At the groundbreaking, Governor Fintiri stated that the projects were designed to strengthen the role of local governments in serving their communities, ensuring equitable development reaches every corner of Adamawa State.
The Governor further emphasized that the schools are key to boosting student enrollment. He issued a stern warning to parents and guardians against denying children access to education, stressing that defaulters would face legal prosecution.
