Governor Fintiri Rewards Super Falcons’ Coach Justine Madugu with House, ₦50 Million for WAFCON Triumph

In a grand gesture of appreciation, Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State has honoured Super Falcons’ Head Coach Justine Madugu with a three-bedroom bungalow and a cash reward of fifty million naira (₦50,000,000) for leading Nigeria to victory at the 2025 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco.

The historic win marked Nigeria’s record-extending 10th WAFCON title, a testament to Madugu’s tactical brilliance and leadership. The Adamawa-born coach, hailing from Numan Local Government Area, was given a heroic welcome at the Adamawa State Government House in Yola, where Governor Fintiri lauded his contributions to Nigerian football.

Governor Fintiri, while presenting the gifts, praised Madugu’s patriotism, dedication, and strategic expertise, which propelled the Super Falcons to glory.

"Coach Justine Madugu has not only made Nigeria proud but has also brought immense honour to Adamawa State," Fintiri said. "This reward is a token of our appreciation and a call to others to strive for excellence. We remain committed to supporting sports development, as seen in our ongoing investments in modern sporting infrastructure."

The governor also urged Madugu to mentor young talents in Adamawa, emphasizing the state’s potential to produce more world-class athletes.

An overwhelmed Coach Madugu expressed deep gratitude for the recognition, describing it as a motivation to further elevate Nigerian football.
