ASPAN Marks World Photography with Week-Long Activities, Inaugurates New Executives

 

Yola, Adamawa State 

As part of the global celebration of World Photography Day with the theme:"My favourite photo" the Adamawa State Photography Association of Nigeria (ASPAN) joined in week-long activities aimed at promoting photography, creativity, and social impact within the state.

The activities kicked off with a street cleaning exercise, followed by radio and TV discussions, a road walk, and a seminar. 


The observance came to a climax with the inauguration of new executive members of the association.

The newly inaugurated executives are:

1. Chairman – Mr. Monday Philip

2. Vice Chairman – Prince Abubakar Hong

3. Secretary – Mr. Philip Bishi

4. Treasurer – Miss. Ogyem Palke

5. Organizing Secretary – Mr. Ibrahim Salau 

6. Public Relations Officer (PRO) –  Joseph George 

7. Auditor – sir. Isinga Innocent Titus 

Speaking at the inauguration, the Adamawa State Commissioner of Entrepreneurship Development, Alh. Hammanjoda Gatugel, represented by Mal. Ibrahim Usman, Director of Entrepreneurship, commended ASPAN for its initiatives in both community service and professional development. He noted that photography has become a powerful tool for storytelling, creativity, and entrepreneurship.

In his goodwill message, the Chairman of the Adamawa State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Dr. Mustapha, congratulated the new executive members and urged them to use their skills not only for artistic expression but also for education and social change.

“Photography is more than just taking pictures; it is a language that speaks to the heart and mind. I encourage ASPAN to support youth empowerment and use this craft to inspire creativity in our schools and communities,” Dr. Mustapha stated.

ASPAN Chairman, Mr. Monday Philip, expressed gratitude to members, partners, and government stakeholders for their support. He assured that under his leadership, the association would continue to project the image of photography as a profession, a business, and a vital tool for social development.
