Adamawa Flood: Governor Fintiri Constitutes 21-Member Committee

 Yola, Adamawa- August 1, 2025

Adamawa State Governor, Rt. Hon. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, CON, has constituted a 21-member Relief and Post-Recovery Committee, chaired by Deputy Governor Prof. Kaletapwa Farauta, in response to the recent flooding in Yola South Local Government Area of the state.

In a statement released by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Humwashi Wonosikou, the committee comprises representatives from various government agencies, security forces, and community leaders, including:

6. Representative, NEMA (Member)

7. Executive Secretary, ADSEMA (Member)

8. Representative, Army (Member)

9. Representative, Air Force (Member)

10. Representative, Police (Member)

11. Representative, DSS (Member)

12. Representative, NSCDC (Member)

13. ⁠Chairman Yola South Local Government (Member)

14. Muslim Council (2 Representatives)

15. CAN (2 Representatives)

The statement further states that, Governor Fintiri has urged the committee to identify measures to bring succor to the affected communities and develop strategies for post-flood recovery. He reassured the public that the government will do its best to ensure the safety and well-being of its citizens.

"We are committed to providing relief and support to affected communities and working towards sustainable solutions to mitigate future disasters," the Governor stated.

The Governor advised the committee to ensure fairness, transparency, and diligence in its work, with the ultimate goal of bringing relief and hope to the affected communities.
