The Knights of St. Mulumba (KSM), Yola Sub-Council, joyfully marked the annual Ojefua Founder’s Day on Saturday, July 26, 2025, at St. Augustine’s Parish, Bekaji, Jimeta-Yola. The event, which celebrates the life and legacy of the noble founder, Rev. Fr. Abraham Ojefua, was well attended by knights, ladies, their families, and invited guests.
The celebration commenced with a solemn Mass officiated by the Sub-Council’s chaplain, Rev. Fr. David Jakos, OSA. In his homily, Fr. Ojefua. As part of the celebration, the Sub-Council hosted a thought-provoking lecture session, which featured two impactful paper presentations. The first paper was delivered by Rev. Fr. Charles Danboyi, a respected cleric and scholar, on the topic: “Patience is a Vital Virtue in the Life of a Servant of God.” Fr. Danboyi stressed that patience is an essential Christian virtue, especially for those called to serve.
Drawing from scriptural and contemporary examples, he illustrated how patience fosters growth, peace, and unity in service and community life. He urged members to embody patience in their families, work, church, and public engagements.
The second paper was presented by Bro. Titus Isinga Innocent, a dedicated member of the order. His presentation focused on "The Importance of Encouraging Youth Participation in the Order." Bro. Titus highlighted the pivotal role of the Youths of St. Mulumba (YSM) in the continuity and growth of the Order. He called on members to actively guide and motivate their children to join the youth wing, citing the objectives of YSM which include spiritual formation, leadership development, moral uprightness, and service to the Church and society. He emphasized that raising young people with these values was critical to preserving the mission and vision of Rev. Fr. Ojefua. The event was not only a spiritual and intellectual reflection on the life of the founder but also an opportunity to reinforce unity among members and renew their commitment to the ideals of the Knights of St. Mulumba. In closing, the Sub-Council thanked all attendees and urged members to carry the legacy of the founder into their daily lives and engagements. Refreshments and social interactions followed, sealing the event as a memorable day in the annals of the Order in Yola.
