Bayelsa State Donates ₦100 Million to Support Adamawa Amid Flood Disaster

Yola, Adamawa State- July 31, 2025  

In a display of solidarity, the Bayelsa State Government, alongside its people, has donated ₦100 million to Adamawa State to assist in recovery efforts after the devastating floods which ravaged parts of Sagari Phase II in Yola South and Fufore LGAs.  

The generous contribution was announced by the Adamawa State Government, which expressed deep gratitude for the gesture. The donation was facilitated by Bayelsa State Governor, His Excellency Douye Diri, reinforcing the spirit of unity and brotherhood.  

In astatement from Gov. Fintiri extracted from his office X handle @GovernorAUF:  the gov was quoted to have said, "We are profoundly grateful to Governor Diri and the people of Bayelsa for this act of compassion. This support will go a long way in helping our communities rebuild and recover. Every kobo will be accounted for and used effectively to uplift those affected."

The donation comes as Adamawa continues to address pressing socio-economic and infrastructural needs. Observers have commended the move as a testament to inter-state cooperation in Nigeria.
