The Adamawa State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Commission has been honoured with a prestigious national award by the Independent Hajj Reporters (IHR), recognizing its exceptional performance during the 2025 Hajj operations.
In a formal notification dated July 28, 2025, addressed to the Permanent Secretary and Executive Secretary of the Commission, Alhaji Salihu Abubakar, the IHR announced that the Adamawa Commission has been nominated as the "Most Proactive/Organised Pilgrims’ Commission" in Nigeria for the 2025 Hajj exercise. The nomination followed a rigorous peer review process assessing the operational efficiency of various state pilgrims’ commissions across the country.The award is a recognition of the Commission’s dedication, coordination, and professionalism in managing both offshore and onshore Hajj activities during the 2025 pilgrimage.
According to the letter signed by Salihu Ahmad on behalf of the Planning Committee, the award will be formally presented at a special event scheduled for Thursday, 4th September 2025, at the Auditorium Hall of the National Mosque in Abuja. The event will commence at 10:00 a.m.Additionally, Hajj Reporters Magazine will publish a special edition to commemorate the 2025 Hajj operations and the award ceremony. The Commission has been invited to submit relevant information, achievements, and high-resolution photographs to be featured in the publication.
