PDP Gains Ground in Adamawa as 930 APC Members Defect in Michika Ceremony

Michika, Adamawa State – June 10, 2025

 In a significant political shift contrasting with national trends of opposition defections to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Adamawa State has bolstered its ranks. Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri today oversaw the formal reception of 930 decampees and returnees from the APC back into the PDP fold during a grand ceremony in Michika Local Government Area.

Governor Fintiri, represented by the State Commissioner for Finance, Hon. Mrs. Augustina Wandahya, framed the event as a testament to the PDP's core principles. 

"The PDP is a party built on inclusivity and equal opportunity," the Governor's message declared. He assured the new members of "full integration into the PDP family," promising them "equal rights and privileges" alongside existing members.

The Governor reaffirmed his administration's dedication to the PDP's core ideals of "equity, progress, and the delivery of democracy’s dividends" to the people of The mass defection includes notable former APC figures from Michika, lending weight to the PDP's claim of growing strength in the region. Hon. Sylvester D. Wada, former Chairman of Michika Local Government.

Hon. Ishaya Dawa, former APC aspirant for the Adamawa State House of Assembly.

Hon. Isaac Chinko, former Administrator of a Development Area.
