NOA Commends Police, Security Agencies for Swift Arrest in Benue Massacre Case

The National Orientation Agency (NOA) has lauded the Nigeria Police and other security agencies for their prompt arrest of the suspected mastermind behind the recent massacre in Yeletawa, Benue State this was contained in a statement released through Paul Odenyi Deputy Director, Communication & Media. The statement recalled that,  the attack at Yalewata resulted in the tragic loss of lives and destruction of property.

NOA Director General, Mallam Lanre Issa-Onilu, stated that the arrest demonstrates the unwavering commitment of security agencies to protecting Nigerians' lives and property. "This swift action," he said, "has brought significant relief to the affected communities and the nation as a whole.

Issa-Onilu expressed profound gratitude for the agencies' tireless efforts in maintaining law and order, emphasizing that the arrest "sends a powerful deterrent to anyone contemplating similar heinous crimes."

Reflecting on the government's obligations, the DG highlighted that peace and security are fundamental promises under the "Nigerian Promise" of the National Values Charter. "This arrest," he noted, "represents a tangible fulfillment of that promise to the people."

He commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his decisive leadership following the incident. "The President's immediate directive during his visit to Benue State for security agencies to apprehend the perpetrators was crucial, and we commend his prompt response which led to this result."

Issa-Onilu also praised the critical synergy and collaboration among security agencies, calling it "instrumental in this successful operation and essential for tackling the nation's complex security challenges."

The NOA Boss urged continued public support for security agencies: "Nigerians play a vital role by providing accurate and timely information to aid security operations." He reaffirmed NOA's dedication to fostering unity, patriotism, national integration, and a culture of peace and peaceful coexistence.
