Late Mathew Njadani’s legacy of service, and political integrity leaves an indelible mark on Hong and beyond

All roads led to Dazza in Hong Local Government on the June 5th, 2025 as dignitaries from different walks of life gathered to pay their final respects to the late Matthew Njadani Mitikurda, a revered church leader, father figure, and symbol of unity. The humble yet impactful leader was laid to rest in his hometown amidst tears and heartfelt tributes for a life dedicated to service.
Speakers at the funeral service praised the late Njadani for his humility, selflessness, and unwavering commitment to humanity. Among the attendees was Gen.Haladu Hananiya (Rtd), who urged the congregation to reflect on their service to God and the hereafter. He also called on the youth to emulate the exemplary life of the deceased.
The Member representing Gombi/Hong Constituency His Excellency, Rt. Hon James Barka shared fond memories of their time as political comrades, recalling how the late Matthew remained steadfast in the PDP, never switching allegiance despite political turbulence.A former schoolmate recounted their days as pioneer pupils at Zhedinyi Primary School, describing Late Matthew as "humble and gentle to a fault." The PDP in Hong also honored him as an exceptional party man with a deep understanding of politics, always advancing the party’s interests with relentless dedication.

nt in breaking barriers, including the appointment of an opposition member as a supervisory councillor.
During the sermon, the officiating pastor admonished believers to remain steadfast in faith.
The Speaker of the Adamawa State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Barthiya Wesley who was also present, described the loss as monumental and urged the community to accept it with grace.

Representing the family, a spokesperson conveyed gratitude for the overwhelming support received and prayed for God’s blessings upon all attendees, wishing them safe travels back home.Late Hon. Matthew Njadani Mitikurda was born on the 10th of June, 1950 and the sun set on him on the 1st of June, 2025. He left behind a wife, seven children, 23 grandchildren and one great grandchild.
