Justice, Development and Peace Commission (JDPC Yola) Trains Youth to Foster Reconciliation and Inclusive Communities

Adamawa State- June 12, 2025

In a proactive move to cultivate a generation of changemakers, the Justice, Development and Peace Commission (JDPC) of the Catholic Diocese of Yola has successfully concluded an intensive series of capacity-building training sessions for students across selected schools in Adamawa State.

JDPC designed this critical intervention to address pressing social challenges and empower youth as catalysts for harmony.

The training modules covered key themes such as peacebuilding, trauma healing, gender-based violence (GBV), bullying, and reconciliation, with the overarching goal of promoting a peaceful and inclusive society.

The training sessions, characterized by interactive workshops, role-playing exercises, and peer-led discussions, took place across multiple educational institutions across the state. The participatory approach ensured students could internalize concepts and practice applying them to real-world scenarios relevant to their daily lives.

This initiative by JDPC Yola underscores the Catholic Church's deep commitment to holistic human development and social justice within Nigeria.

By investing in the moral and civic education of students, the Commission aims to sow seeds of tolerance, respect, and active citizenship, contributing significantly to long-term sustainable peace and development in Adamawa State.
