Governor Fintiri Congratulates New NUJ Executives, Calls for Unity and Professionalism

Adamawa State Governor, His Excellency Rt. Hon. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri CON, has extended heartfelt congratulations to the newly elected Executive Council members of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Adamawa State Chapter.

In a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Humwashi Wonosikou, Governor Fintiri particularly commended the newly elected Chairman, Comrade Abdullahi Ibrahim, and other executive members on their successful election, following the union’s polls held on Wednesday.

The Governor urged the new leadership to prioritize unity and inclusiveness, emphasizing the need to extend a hand of fellowship to all members—including fellow contestants—to foster a stronger and more cohesive union. He described the election as a healthy democratic exercise among colleagues united by a shared commitment to the progress of the NUJ.

Governor Fintiri reiterated his administration’s dedication to strengthening collaboration with the media in Adamawa State, anchored on professionalism, mutual respect, and the collective interest of the state. He charged the new executives to uphold the highest ethical standards in journalism, noting the critical role of the media in sustaining democracy.

“I urge journalists to remain steadfast in upholding the ethics of this noble profession, which serves as the bedrock of democracy and good governance,” the Governor stated.

While wishing the new NUJ leadership a successful and impactful tenure, Governor Fintiri expressed confidence in their ability to elevate journalism standards in Adamawa State.
