Adamawa Awards Automatic Employment to 60 India-Trained Engineers

Yoal, Adamawa State- April 4, 2025

The Adamawa State Government has offered automatic employment to sixty engineering graduates who completed their studies in India under a state-sponsored scholarship scheme.

The beneficiaries, who recently concluded their mandatory one-year service, visited the Government House in Yola on [insert date] to express gratitude to Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri for the opportunity.

Commissioner for Education and Human Capital Development, Dr. Umar Garba Pella, told reporters that the graduates excelled in their five-year engineering programs across various disciplines.

"Governor Fintiri initiated this scheme in 2020 to develop technical manpower for Adamawa’s growth," Pella said. "Today’s outcome justifies the investment, and we’re preparing to sponsor another batch to China soon."

Tahir Iju Sama’ila, spokesperson for the graduates, praised the governor’s commitment:

"While other states abandoned their overseas students, Governor Fintiri funded our tuition and welfare throughout our studies. We’re now proud engineers ready to serve our state."

The commissioner announced that selection processes have begun for a new cohort of beneficiaries under an expanded scholarship program targeting Chinese universities.

The initiative demonstrates Adamawa’s commitment to bridging technical manpower gaps through strategic education investments, with direct employment ensuring immediate impact.
