During the presentation at the NBA House in Jalingo on Saturday, Barr. Nana Ganki Hassan, the Taraba State Women Lead of the NBAWF, spoke on behalf of the National Chairperson. She highlighted that this initiative reflects the NBAWF’s dedication to supporting female lawyers who take courageous steps in their professional careers.
Hassan explained that the donation is intended to improve legal research, increase productivity, and inspire women to overcome challenges in a field historically dominated by men.
“This generous contribution from our National Chairperson, Princess Huwaila Ibrahim Muhammad, underscores her commitment to empowering female lawyers who demonstrate bravery and determination in establishing their own law firms,” Hassan said.
“It is rare in Nigeria to see female lawyers founding law firms, which is why our National Chairperson has prioritized supporting and mentoring those who do. For too long, the legal profession has been viewed as male-dominated, with little acknowledgment of women’s contributions. The NBA Women Forum was created to shift this narrative by mentoring and empowering female lawyers to succeed and compete effectively.”
Hassan also praised Princess Huwaila Ibrahim Muhammad for funding the N300,000 subscription, calling it a significant investment in the legal profession and an inspiration for other women in the field.
Barr. Martin Milkman, Chairman of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) in Taraba State, commended the NBAWF National Chairperson for the initiative, noting that such efforts will motivate more female lawyers to excel in their careers.
In her response, Barr. Luis Ojoho Ishaya expressed heartfelt gratitude for the support, describing it as a major boost to her aspirations for excellence in legal practice. She thanked Princess Huwaila Ibrahim Muhammad and the NBAWF for their generosity and vowed to make the most of the opportunity by improving her legal research and mentoring young female lawyers to achieve professional success.By- Sunday Joseph Hicia News
