FIGHT AGAINST SEXUAL ABUSE:- 43-YEAR-OLD MAN ARRESTED FOR RAPING A MINOR

ADAMAWA STATE POLICE COMMAND

In continuation of its commitment to tackling gender-based violence, the Adamawa State Police Command has arrested a 43 years old, Rabiu Usman, for allegedly rapping an 11-year-old minor in Timdore District, Ganye Local Government Area.

The arrest follows a referral from the Chief Magistrate Court, Ganye, based on a complaint lodged by the victim’s mother.

It was reported that, on 16th February 2025, the victim, while attending a wedding ceremony in Timdore village, went to a nearby house to drink water. Unfortunately the suspect forcefully, dragged her to the rear side of the compound and had unlawful carnal knowledge of her.

It was gatthered that, upon receiving the report, the victim was taken to a medical facility in Ganye for medical examination and treatment.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Dankombo Morris, PSC (+), strongly condemned in strong terms the act and directed the Officer in Charge of the Family Support Unit of the Command to take over investigation and ensure a diligent prosecution of the suspect.

The Adamawa State Police Command remains resolute in its fight against all forms of sexual Abuses and gender-based violence as such Urges Parents and Guardians to Closely Monitor their Children  and report to Police especially those with questionable characters.
