Bishop Theophilus S. Shadrach and Pastors Escape Car Fire Unharmed

Yola, Adamawa- March 19, 2025

In a miraculous turn of events, Rt. Rev. Theophilus S. Shadrach, alongside four other pastors from the Yola Diocese, narrowly escaped a harrowing car fire accident unharmed. The incident occurred on Tuesday, March 18, 2025, while the clergy members were traveling from Abuja to enroute Jos to Yola.  

The group had just attended the installation ceremony of the new Bishop of the Abuja Diocese and were en route in a Highlander SUV belonging to Rev. Saul Patayaure when the vehicle suddenly caught fire. Despite the terrifying situation, all five occupants managed to exit the vehicle safely, escaping without injury.  

The passengers included:  

- Rt. Rev. Theophilus S. Shadrach  

- Rev. Amana Gadiel  

- Rev. Stephen Mafa Tarfa  

- Rev. Saul Patayaure  

- Rev. Amos Botta  

The cause of the fire remains under investigation, but the survival of the clergy members has been widely attributed to divine intervention. Members of the Yola Diocese and the broader Christian community have expressed gratitude for the miraculous escape, with many offering prayers of thanksgiving.  

“More protection, oh Lord,” echoed a statement from the Yola Diocese Media, reflecting the sentiment of relief and faith shared by many.  

Speaking with Rev. Stephen Mafa via phone (one of the five passengers in the vehicle), who confirmed the development as true to hicia news said " we give God the glory for divine protection. All of us came out from the vehicle unharmed" "May God's name be praised" he add.
