Foundation to trains students in 108 campuses on leadership ,enterpreneurs Unveiled leadership clinic in MAU Yola

To boost the leadership and entrepreneur capacity of students in 108 high institutions graduates in Nigeria, Future foundation has started training of students across the six geopolitical zones. 

While in Yola at the unveiling of leadership clinic at Modibbo  Adama University MAU on Wednesday,Mr. Ekpa Stanley , the Executive Director, said, “there is no reason why public service delivery should not be efficient as service delivery in the private sector or better, that’s the essence of this event, to engage undergraduates on the global best practices and culture of civil service and how to efficiently deliver services to the public as civil servants. 

He said that his foundation has  focused on the subject of leadership for mainly  elected or appointed officials and civil servants who are the engine room of policy implementation.

"We also identified , trained and provided students startup support for student entrepreneurs, including free Corporate Affairs Commission’s Registration; and a tailored public sector leadership training for the student union leaders, faculty and developmental executives, among others"he stated. 

Ekpa pointed out that the essence of the clinical training, is to raise a new class of leaders in civil service, public sector and private sector leadership, as well as media and nonprofit sector leaders, with the credentials of competence, character and capacity to deliver on a promise of a functional, productive and inclusively prosperous Nigeria that is safe and works for everyone.

The executive director of the foundation disclosed that grants will be giving to student entrepreneurs and mentorship opportunities for selected entrepreneurs, who are matched with striving businesses and entities in Yola and across the country.

According to Ekpa, “If we are all dissatisfied about the Nigeria of today, it means you cannot emerge as future leaders with the same mindset, culture and orientation about value offering, about excellence in service, about accountability and transparency, about the value of human life".

The special Adviser to governor of Adamawa State on ICT, e-governance, and Policy, Dr. Hammajam Ahmed Adamu, said that there emerging opportunities for young people and that they can used the training to leverage on such opportunities for their growth in any of their chosen sectors. 

While Mary  Igbazua, CEO, Northeast Humanitarian Innovation hub, emphasized the importance of volunteering and commitment to humanity in service. 

 "With 60 percent of graduates seeking for employment opportunities in the civil service, this initiative seeks to raise a new generation of civil servants who seeks civil and public services as a serious duty that demand excellence, dedication and commitment to the public, "she said.
