PTIL of Madagali Receives Grand Homecoming Reception in Gulak

The recently appointed Ptil of Madagali, His Royal Highness, Alhaji Dr. Ali Danburam (MBBS, FWACP, FCCP), was warmly received in a grand homecoming ceremony at his ancestral palace in Gulak, Madagali Local Government Area of Adamawa State, on January 8, 2025. The event, held amid jubilation, marked the official escort of the paramount ruler from Yola to his domain, where a large crowd gathered to celebrate his return.

The convoy, which departed from the residence of His Royal Highness in Yola at 7:30 am, arrived at the border town of Wurogayandi by 11:00 am, where an overwhelming number of well-wishers, including dignitaries, community leaders, and enthusiastic residents, welcomed the monarch with cheers and cultural displays. From there, the entourage proceeded to the ancient and historic town of Gulak, where the new Ptil was officially received at his palace.

The homecoming ceremony was attended by prominent figures from within and outside the state, including members of the diaspora. In his address, His Royal Highness expressed profound gratitude to all who traveled from far and near to celebrate with him. He charged the people of Madagali to be ambassadors of peace and unity, pledging his commitment to piloting the affairs of the chieftaincy with wisdom and dedication.

Speaking at the event, the Executive Chairman of Madagali Local Government, Hon. Simon Musa Shashi, extended his heartfelt congratulations to the Ptil and urged the sons and daughters of Madagali to offer their unwavering support to the new monarch. He emphasized the importance of unity and cooperation in fostering the development of the local government.

Similarly, the Permanent Secretary of the Adamawa State Ministry of Information and Strategy, Mr. Solomon Kumangar, who served as the Master of Ceremonies (MC) for the occasion, congratulated the Ptil on his official appointment. He described His Royal Highness as a bridge-builder whose leadership has already contributed to the prevailing peace and tranquility in Madagali. Kumangar further prayed for a long, peaceful, and prosperous reign for the monarch.

The grand reception demonstrated the unity and solidarity of the people of Madagali Chiefdom and highlighted their high expectations for the new ruler. The event concluded with cultural performances, goodwill messages, and prayers for the continued progress of Madagali under the leadership of His Royal Highness, Dr. Ali Danburam.
